The memorial lists the name of the Vietnam vets who lost their lives during the war or are missing in action. The names are listed by year. It is a small memorial on the river walk level with a small fountain in front of it.

The monument is located along the Riverwalk at the State Street Bridge in a small greenspace. It is a beautiful space to stop and reflect on the sacrifices the Vietnam War veterans made and of those that lost their lives. There is a spot for...More

Placing the monument right on the high traffic Riverwalk means lots of people will get to see it and think about what it represents. Well thought out monument excellently placed.

This is a very simple, but beautiful memorial. It is a great place to stop and reflect as well as to rest if you are making one of those long Chicago treks.

It was just so close to the Riverwalk. it was tiny place. All of the Vietnam Monuments/Sqares were huge and this tiny place fits the surrounding.

Right by the Riverwalk, this small scale memorial is a nice change for the grandiose ones in DC where I live. It is a serene spot just down from Wabash and a nice way to honor the Vietnam Veterans of Chicago.

It's understated but sometimes that works for a monument of its kind. Great job Chicago on that front, not everything needs to be massive and loud.

We discovered this alcove just off the RiverWalk. It is a quiet area with fountains and pool along with a wall dedicated to the Chicago Vietnam Veterans who were killed. It is similar to The Wall in DC, except it focuses on Chicago and the...More
