This building is as grand today as it was when it opened in the 19th century. I have enjoyed many performances here--most notably those of the Joffrey Ballet. The acoustics are excellent, as are the sight lines for most seats In the Orchestra, Dress Circle,...More

I have attended several ballets (mostly Joffrey Nutcracker) at the Auditorium. This is a history lover's dream. Wood worn smooth wear arms have rested, carpeting a little worn wear shoes have trod, monofilament lightbulbs galore, a glorious creak in the floors. The lobby area is...More

Beautiful theatre and performance we throughly enjoyed. However, the theatre was just WAY too warm. At first, I thought it was just us, but then we heard the couple behind us comment as well regarding the excessive heat. We were seated upstairs. Perhaps this is...More

We’ve seen numerous different shows at the Auditorium... both as a couple and with our family... and we love it every time. Our favorite seats are the lower boxes: what a treat for the family!

This theater was built by historic architect Louis Sullivan and engineer Dankmar Adler. There is not a bad seat in this large theater. The sight lines are unbelievable and the acoustics are fantastic. We go here for Broadway plays as well as viewing dance companies.

Visited for Giordano’s one night show. Show is outstanding. Venue is classic. Seating a bit narrow and stiff. Showing its age. Seating is good from many areas. Best seats are center orchestra. Beautiful theater. Pricey drinks and snacks.
