I really can't recommend this enough on any visit to Chicago! They covered a whole range of topics (I'm not American but have an equal disdain for Trump so loved the political jokes!). The stars were so on their feet with the improv, and we...More
And clearly that’s a good thing!
We couldn’t make it into Chicago to see the main show on Thursday because of weather. However, they happily exchanged our tickets for the gaslight show the next evening.
The theater is a little crowded but so is every...More
One of the main reasons we took a trip to Chicago was to see its improv scene. We are part of the Improv Cincinnati (Cincinnati, Ohio) community and were looking forward to seeing the famous Second City. The show was great! The title of the...More
I have probably seen 15+ reviews at Second City. It's usually worth a visit. Some are funny, some are politically satirical, some are poignant, some are remarkably original. This show is, simply, awful. Painfully unfunny, Nothing original. Wildly inconsistent, no direction whatsoever. Whoever directed this...More
I've been given so many recommendations to visit Second City while I am in Chicago. This place is pretty well known, and I now I understand why.
There are plenty of tickets available for many different times. I ended up buying some for their 7:30pm...More
My friend and I went here on a whim after brunch and we were SO glad we did. It was a Sunday afternoon show and it was absolutely hysterical. It was definitely adult humor and we loved every second of it.

I love improv but there was actually very little of it....More
My friend and I went to a Thursday 8 PM Main stage show (Algorithm Nation or The Static Quo). We paid for the $31 tickets where the manager will pick your seat, and we were placed on the 3rd row towards the center, perfect seats....More

It used to be that first come first seated, however, now you should have reserved seating. They open the doors an hour before showtime. I usually get there 45 minutes to an hour early especially if you are driving. If you are driving there is a small lot across the street that’s easier to get in and out of. Parking isn’t cheap in Chicago. Uber or cab saves you the worry of driving there if you are at a hotel in the loop. Enjoy.
