when in chicago area i use to go to the most famous kingston mines... well B.L.U.E.S. is definitely different: much smaller, more intimate but great music. traditional blues to be enjoyed with the soul having some good beers. NO FRILLS BUT BLUES. probably not modern and actual blues but traditional chicago blues. i'll be back for sure!

Intimate setting -- not large, you feel very close to the stage. Volume was fine, sound quality pretty good. Blues show was very good. Not a fancy place at all -- this is where you go to listen to blues, not to see and be seen. You have to get there quite early if you hope to have a table.

Happened to be Big Ray's birthday so there was a jam going on. For a $5 cover I had the chance to hear a variety of recording artists from the Blues Hall of Fame playing about 10 feet away, get great drink service and eat some home style Southern Blues food that was there for all in celebration of Big... The Saloon in San Francisco is our gold standard for live blues bars and we were delighted to discover this place while in Chicago for a weekend. Good music, good pours, good company. All you could ask for.

This place was so much fun and the music was incredible. The bar isn't that big so it can be really crowded but the we had an absolute blast watching people come out of the crowd to play with the band. I feel like most of the staff can play something or sing?

I love it. Very cosy, a lot of history with lots of soul, best relaxed blues. Good people on stage, behind the bar. You can bring your own food. Thanks for having us!

The 10 dollar cover charge was nothing in comparison to the wonderful blues we heard. The band played for 3 whole hours with a short break. Even the singer from the club across the road sang a couple of numbers. Its a very friendly place, where many locals and foreigners gather alike. Drinks are cheap. As other reviews say there... Went there while they were in their August festival, each day a different band. Got to see Eddie Shaw and the Wolfgang. They were absolutely amazing. The club had a very welcoming atmosphere. The waitresses were very nice. If anyone wants a real blues experience definitely check out the B.L.U.E.S

Everyone seemed to know everyone else but yet we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The band playing Were amazing. So talented and what a memorable "non-tourist" thing to do. I am not a huge Blues or jazz fan but the music was accessible and the atmosphere of This run- down authentic club was outstanding. It would rank as in... More
