I came to the Riviera last Wednesday, 10/3, to see Ben Howard. It was an EPIC show. Loved seeing him perform live. I have been waiting years for BH to come to the states to play and was SO excited to see him but absolutely...More
We are all for not tearing down historic places but this venue is dirty dusty and worn out. Not sure if the sound system is supplied by the venue or artist but the sound for the Jessie J show was terrible. Her voice deserved better.
Fine place for a show. Was nice that there was open area by stagecand General admin balcony seating (at least for this show). Balcony was pretty warm. Sound was very good be my estimation and even from balcony we had a nice view of stage.
I will start out with the one major positive out of this experience: Gaslight Anthem! The drink lines on the 2nd and 3rd floor were short and the bathroom (basement) has plenty of stalls/spots.
After seeing 300+ shows in places across the US, this is...More
How can people complain about these great old relics. I love seeing shows at aging theaters. Saw My Bloody Valentine there, the marquee was super cool, people were nice from security to the bartenders. Loved the green and purple peeling paint.
Only one suggestion, have...More
I was there last night for An Evening with Glen Hansard. The good: we sat in the balcony about 7 or 8 rows up and the sound was fantastic. I saw him a few years ago at a different venue and it was equally amazing...More
Had an absolutely amazing time at the Robert Plant concert. He’s been playing smaller venues in recent years, which is part of the reason why we got close to the stage. This man is a living legend and a brilliant performer. And his band is...More

I saw Robert Plant this week here and enjoyed seeing him in a small venue. However, this is the most run-down of the old Chicago theaters I have been in recently. VERY amateur repair work all over the place. Makes me worry about the wiring....More
I cannot believe a venue like this continues to exist in the 21st century. Dirty, unsafe, fire trap with bathrooms which defy belief because of the unsanitary conditions. A total sewer and should be shut down. I do not have the option of zero stars...More

Whenever we attended a concert in that area we noticed the streets were packed. There is another larger venue across the street, so there are always people around. I think it's pretty safe. It's hard to park on the side streets since it is zone parking. We usually parked in a lot close by with $20, but a few times we found street parking. Just remember, it's super hot and gross inside.
