Came to Chicago at Christmas time to experince the nostalgia of a "city christmas" as I remembered from youth. Included in this was to see a traditional presentation of "A Christmas Carol." It was recommended by locals that Goodman would deliver. I was so glad that in fact we ventured out that evening. The experince was magical, as the cast... More

We saw "A Christmas Carol" about 5 years ago at the Goodman Theatre and absolutely loved it! This time around was a whole different experience. While Larry Yando did an excellent job of playing Scrooge, and there were some added special effects, there were many things that didn't sit right. Why did they change the story and have a niece... A healthy dose of Dickens and A Christmas Carol, plus challenging improv (e.g., a chracter that, per audience input, speaks only in prime numbers) from the Second City Troup made for a hilarious evening that showed the descendants of SNL's founders hold their own and more.

We saw a Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theatre during the holidays. The theatre sound was good and the acting was also very good.

We were in town for my birthday & decided to see A Wounderful Town. The show was good I enjoyed it. The theater was ok. It just wasn't what I was expecting. I expected more wow or something. It was clean & seating was good but that's about it. It wasn't overly welcoming or theatrical. It was just a building... More

I had a wonderful experience at the Goodman Theatre in Oct 2016, seeing Wonderful Town on its last night. The theatre was very clean, with a comfortable ambience. I had excellent seats near the stage, but as other reviewers have mentioned this is a relatively small, well-designed venue so all of the seats appear to have good views. The event... More

Just saw another great show at this lovely theatre. Ordering tickets on line was easy and there was a link to prepaid parking directly across the street. Picking up the tix at will call was also easy and there is plenty of staff to direct you to your seats. No bad seat in the theatre, seats are roomy and comfortable.... More

The G is a smaller theater and it is well designed. We bought last minute tickets on the today tix app. We were assigned mezzanine HH side seats 1 and 2. We were impressed by how our view was good considering the extreme side and back location. The performance was Wonderful Town, a Tony award winner from the 50s. It... More

I recently saw two shows in the Albert Theater at the Goodman Theater. War Paint and Wonderful Town were two great musical plays. Great casts and wonderful staging. The theater isn't too large and there is a lot of leg room. Since I have trouble with my left leg, I appreciate that I can stretch the leg out before me.... More

We went to see Wonderful Town last night. I was really looking forward to it. When we arrived we ordered a drink at one bar and they said they didn't have that kind of spirit so would have to go to another bar. So I waited in line again. When I ordered my drinks I noticed the lady putting ice... More
