Great place to shop all in one area and plenty of eating places around the Magnificent Mile and within the shopping Malls. Nice to stroll and window shop.

As one of Chicago's must-sees, the Magnificent Mile does not disappoint. It is clean, has plenty of shops, department stores, restaurants, etc. However, as shopping goes, there really isn't anything new or different that you could not get in any city or suburban mall/town center. It is certainly worth walking through, but don't be surprised if you don't find it... More

February in Chicago can be brutal weather but this year. The Magnificent Mile should have been packed with people but it wasn't. Beautiful weather, stores were open and worth the walk.

The Magnificent Mile is Chicago personified. Even if one doesn't shop or spend money, it is still fun to see the floral displays (spring, summer or fall), the artwork (there is usually something along Michigan Avenue), the panhandlers (sad in many ways, but some are very clever and humorous), and in general to just watch the masses coming and going.... Magnificent Mile has all the shopping you can think of, it was also has restaurants. It's very touristy, not really a local place, but it's a must if you have never been to Chicago. There is quite often street performers and horse and carriage rides.

Every metropolis in the world has a main venue , street or avenue. Michigan Avenue or Magnificent Mile is Chicago's. For about 10 blocks from Lake Shore Drive to the river is a great venue, similar in some degree to 5th Avenue or the Champs de Elysees. It is a must and easy walk. Once you get to the river,... The magnificent mile really wasn't that impressive, just a lot of expensive chain shops. However, it does have good views of downtown

Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile.
