The quintessential natural history museum

Every kid should go here once, but some of the dioramas might be too detailed and too similar for younger kids.

This is a must for a visit to Chicago--I had not been there since the 90's and they have updated a lot. We went primarily to see the Chinese Terracotta exhibit (which is there until Jan 2017). It was well worth seeing--but we also enjoyed the Native American exhibits and just briefly in a couple of other exhibits. That was... More

We opted for the $40 ticket. It included all the special exhibits. We spent the day wandering around. It was perfect firing the middle of the week when only school children were there (buses!). The terra-cotta warriors were amazing. It was worth the money yo be able yo view and learn about them. It was a nice way to spend... More

Ok so I am not the biggest fan of Museum! BUT!! i gotta say this is by far one of those museums you must check out, it has a ton of interesting things to see and well you can take all day just being there reading. I loved the bird section, never knew so many different types of birds existed.... More

I'm from DC area and I'm spoiled by Smithsonian and Free museums! This is expensive for individuals and families! Although I am now an IL resident and went on a free day for residents, I still shelled out extra money for different exhibits. This is nickle and diming people, as all exhibits should be one price! Anyway this is not... More

I went to the Field Museum just to see the exposition on the Chinese terra cotta army. Very impressive.

The "Inside Egypt" exhibit was new to me since the last time I visited the Field Museum. It was worth the wait. They have reconfigured their ancient Egyptian collection into a very friendly layout that combines superb artifacts thousands of years old with modern technology. It's great for kids, teenagers, adults, even serious students of Egypt. I've been inside numerous... More

Don't even think about going to China to see the warriors! This was a great exhibit! Lots of pictures, real warriors, great stories. We did go during the week, so no crowds and not too many groups so we got to see lots of other things the museum offered. The Field Museum is definitely a Must-See for any out of... More

We weren't here very long but it is a beautiful museum. We loved getting to see the real Sue since we've seen the fake Sue at Disney World! There is a Big Bus stop out front.
