I had a day here with a class about Ancient Greek sport. We had a chance to look at thousands years old collections. It was amazing. It's a place to take your kids to. They do not have a big collection like those in Chicago but it is enough to spend a couple hours here and enjoy the history of... More

Filled with everything from ancient Egyptian to contemporary photography. Plus a gallery of African Art. Very interesting and worth a visit. Depending on what kind of art you like your visit could take about two - three hours.

Definitely worth a visit - the Taft sculptures are intense and there's a variety of art from around the world and throughout the centuries.

Nice University museum but certainly not the best I have seen. A friend and I went here for a special exhibit but took advantage of the opportunity to walk through their permanent exhibits as well. The permanent collection is of decent size but the quality of work isn't the best. While they have pieces from some well known artists they... More

Average permanent collection with really enjoyable exhibition galleries. Great mix of new media and contemporary art - plan to spend and hour to get through all the exhibits at a leisurely pace.

Our family loves the Krannert Art Museum. The temporary art is welcomed, the contemporary paintings are alarming, the traditional art is a staple. The sculptures are impressive. It's a quiet environment with a nice collection.

I was visiting campus with my two tween sons, and wanted to see some of the new items on campus since attending over 20 years ago. This was a great introduction to modern art. They had some electronic examples, paintings, and sculptures. It was free to get in with a suggested donation of $3 near the pamphlets. There was a... More

The basement houses a collection of eygptian artifacts, greek pottery, artifacts from the time of Incas plus a whole lot more..The ground floor houses some nice early paintings and some contemporary art. I was really impressed with the collection in the basement. There is a cafe I believe on the ground floor.

The collections are vast, basically if an Alumni has something to donate, the Museum needs to find a place. and put it in perspective of a collecting point of view. a challenge - BUT definitely great for a place in the mid of Illinois to have such a collection at all
