This is a great hike, but definitely not for the faint of heart! I would say it’s is for at least for intermediate hikers. You start at the base of the River Run Plaza. Park in the parking lot, and then walk over the bridge and past the shops. The trail starts on the right of the River Run Express chairlift. You’ll see the sign as you keep walking. It took us about 3 hours. We started a little after 8am and the weather was perfect! The view from the top of the summit was spectacular!! The chairlifts run during the summer, and you can take the chairlift down. We stopped for lunch at the Roundhouse Restaurant, then took the gondola down the rest of the way. I highly recommend this hike!

Nice day up on the mountain looking and hiking around. Too bad there was quite a bit of smoke in the air because of fires. Next time we will head up there earlier in the year to really take advantage of the wonderful views.

We hiked down from the summit of Bald Mt to the Roundhose—about 3 Miles. The trail was in good shape the vast majority of the time. Nice mix of time in forest and time in open. The views are spectacular. It was @ gorgeous day an$ not crowded at all in the AM.

This is not a super easy hike. It is about five miles up to the Roundhouse for a treat and a ride back down. The BLM lookout is an easy hike.

We are sea level people so the hike to the top of Bald Mt, at 9,150' was a bit of a challenge for us only because of not having enough days to acclimate. The trail itself was well groomed, with long switchbacks that helped you feel that you weren't hiking the 3,000' plus elevation gain in 5 miles in an upward relentless slog. A huge plus was having the option of taking the Christmas tree chair down to the Gondola to the base for free! We took advantage of that to preserve the knees and to visit the bar at the roundhouse as a reward for a long hike up. We highly recommend this hike!
