We did the full-day rafting trip down the Salmon River. I had three kids with me, ages 10, 9, and 6. My six-year-old was a little nervous at the beginning but by the end of the trip, she was asking for more! We also got...More
Had a lovely time doing the full-day whitewater trip. Receptionist/store manager (Kitt) was knowledgeable and hospitable to help me pick the best trip for my available time/interests. The guide (Alec) was delightful and the scenery was without compare. Definitely worth doing regardless of adventure/skill-level!
We've been on a couple of great raft trips, but the trip with Idaho Adventures was the best one yet. The staff at the shop that got us checked in were so welcoming, and Chris and Aaron who guided the boats, described the history of...More
What an amazing day! Our guide, Alec, was a doll and took great care of two grandmas! He showed us wildlife (a river otter, mountain sheep, a bald eagle, and a moose and her calf) as well as making us a gourmet lunch and entertaining...More

Excellent integration of historical material from different times on the river (toured a real gold mine on a break, plus,...More
I have made no less than a dozen trips with Idaho Adventures and the fact that I keep returning speaks for itself. I would put my experiences with Idaho Adventures on par with any I've experience in Alaska, Chile, NZ and Papua New Guinea. Whether...More
My family did a day trip on the Salmon River with Idaho Adventures and had a great time. It was just our family, and they arranged it all to suit us. Our 21-year old son took an inflatable kayak while the rest of us (mom,...More
This family owned and operated business gives clients the experience of a lifetime. I have never rafted before so I had some trepidation in signing up for a 5 day trip. I need not have!!. The equipment they provided was either new or like new...More
Great questions - Can't answer them all given there may be lots of options. What I can say is that the main Salmon is not like the Gauley - more like the Potomac/Shenandoah, at least at mid water level. The Middle Fork is... More
Great questions - Can't answer them all given there may be lots of options. What I can say is that the main Salmon is not like the Gauley - more like the Potomac/Shenandoah, at least at mid water level. The Middle Fork is apparently amazing at high- to mid-water levels. For Gauley-like water I'd suggest looking at the Payette River in which case you'd fly into Boise. Or if you're planning a spring trip, there's the Lochsa - where you'd probably want to fly into Missoula.
