The museum itself is quite small, but provides the basics on the history of Sacajawea and her people. There is a nice interpretive trail that leads you out into the landscape and to the river. Worth a visit.

The setting is amazing, looking across the Lemhi Valley. Has small center with meeting rooms. There is not that much to the interpretive center, not many artifacts, etc. maybe a brief stop if you need a bathroom break or picnic site while traveling through Salmon.

We took a walk late in the day after arriving after a long drive down the Salmon River Scenic Byway. It was peaceful and beautiful. We saw lots of birds, deer and even a Great Horned Owl on the river.

We have stopped by the interpretive center on 2 occasions. We will most likely stop again when in the area. It would be a great place to bring the grandkids.
