We have been to cooking classes here and they are lots of fun and very instructive. We have also been on 8 (yes 8) of their tour groups for cuisine and culture tours - great local experiences that we would never find on our own, great accomodation and super relaxed way to see the world.

A very casual yet completely informative cooking lesson where you get to continually eat what is being prepared in front of you. Easy to understand & follow, right down to where the best places are to buy the ingredients. I'd go there just for the food, the lesson is a bonus.

I was given this as a birthday present and what a great experience it was. Turned up to Nico's for the BBQ Surf and Turf Passions class and were met by the lovely Nico who is a great chef and even better bloke.

It kicked off with Scallops and chilli jam, then BBQ teriyaki salmon skewers followed by simply grilled snapper fillets. After this we moved onto the BBQ roast lamb leg with roast potatoes, sautéed chilli and garlic buttered vegetables with a homemade mint sauce and topped off with a frozen mojito cheesecake.
A sumptuous menu.

The best part about the class is Nico runs through every step with you, showing you tips, methods and ways to do things better. I particularly liked this. He also gives a list of his suppliers so you can replicate the dishes in your own home as best as you can. All in all a great evening and highly recommended!

What a great way to learn about cooking. Nico has such a relaxed and professional manner about him. Myself being a 50 year old male I thought that I wouldn't learn much about the BBQ technique... I was wrong it was so informative.
Can't wait to get to another class.

An amazing trip around Vietnam tasting our way from bottom to top, with three fabulous cooking classes along the way. Nico and Belinda are wonderful hosts whose experience and knowledge of this country make the trip all the more enjoyable. Nico goes the extra mile to ensure everyone has a great trip. Another very memorable holiday - (our fourth with Urban Provider). Absolutely recommended *****

We have been to a few of the Urban Provider cooking classes and have accompanied Nico and Belinda on one of the trips - all have been well-organised, informative, definitely tasty and relaxing. These are not hands on classes, they are more relaxed, where you can sit back, observe all the skills, smell and taste spices & mixtures as they are shared and discussed with the class. You can take the time to ask questions, write notes, chat with fellow classmates, take in all the tips, learn where to buy all the local produce and at the end of the evening, eat all the beautiful.

This was our second tour with Nico and Belinda, and met all our expectations. Our last tour in 2013 was in Vietnam - a fantastic experience. Puglia is not usually part of the Grand Tour of Italy, and we jumped at the chance of seeing this region in the company of Nico, who has family there. Fascinating country, cuisine and sights with a small friendly like minded group and with Nico to save us attempting phrase book Italian! Remarkable restaurants and food (and wine!), but also plenty of time to do your own thing too. Highly recommended.

After my Mum, Sister and i completed one of Nikos cooking classes early in the year, we decided to buy a voucher for our husbands to do a class together. They all love cooking and thought it would be great for them to do as Dad and son in law thing. We had booked in the class, but just 2 weeks before, my Dad collapsed and was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour. Our lives were changed forever. We had forgotten all about the cooking class and 2 days before i phoned Niko to explain that the guys would not be there and why.
I just could not believe the response. I was thinking he may a least show some empathy and even maybe suggest we do the class another time discounted. We were not asking for our money back as i know he has to buy produce etc ahead of time.
But what i got was , "well its like a quarter of the class so I can't really do anything about it. "And then , "can you find someone to fill in the spots so they are not wasted". I was so upset and in disbelief at the total lack of humanity he showed that my husband phoned back and told him "no we really have much more to worry about than finding someone else to fill the spots. "He tried to make out he didn't really know the situation. Not sure what part of my Dad having an aggresive brain tumour removed from his head and is in hospital, he didn't understand. i really hope he never has to face anything like we have over the last 3 months.
Don't worry about cooking classes people, just enjoy life, its precious.
As for my family all our Nikos cook books in the bin and money on classes well wasted.

It was with great sadness that I received your comments this morning, regarding our telephone discussions in August. We have had many clients in the past who have contacted us to reschedule places, and where there is enough notice provided before the class, we have been able to accommodate their request. Last minute cancellations are a little more difficult to accommodate, as we do have only limited places in our classes. As a result, we do indicate in all of our Booking Confirmations to clients that they are welcome to send someone else in their place, if they are unable to attend at the last moment. In many cases clients have been able to do this, however not in all instances. I am very sorry that the conveying of our cancellation policy was construed as a lack of compassion, as this was never my intention. Following the conversation with your husband where he indicated that the circumstances were such that replacements could not be found at such late notice, I offered to him the opportunity to reschedule the places to another class in the future. These places are still available.

Having just returned from 2 weeks in Bali, we feel priviliged to have spent a week with Nico and Belinda discovering parts of Bali that we haven't seen in about 15 previous trips to the island.
Nico's knowledge of the culture, the restaurant scene along with Belinda's thorough researching of the spa's, made for a fantastic holiday.

The Cafe Wayan cooking school along with the Mozaic Restaurant demonstration provided some of the best food in Ubud. The Cycling tour is the first of the 4 previously riden on, that was truely "all downhill" - a fun filled very enjoyable day. The cooking school at Bali Asli with Penny Williams was the highlight of the trip for me. Penny's skills as a guide and chef along with her respect for all that Bali offers, made the day complete.

The accommodation venue's - Alam Jiwa (Ubud) and Alila Mangiss (Candi Dasa) were perfect spots to spend our spare time in and along with Nico's structure of the tour, made the trip an unbelievable time away. Nico's knowledge of Bali continued to the second week, with he and Belinda going out of their way to visit us and recommend further restaurants they had discovered in Seminyak and Jimbaran. Would definetly love to join them on their trips to Italy, Vietnam or Tasmania in future years.
