Payette Lake is a wonderful destination place. It is an amazing area whether you are boating, hiking, fishing, biking or just out for a scenic drive. The lake is beautiful and the surrounding area is amazing. The town of McCall is at the south end of the lake. There you can enjoy a day of fun shopping and dining, or... More

The lake is very lovely from all angles. We would have loved to paddleboard but it was too cold for us. That did not stop other folks from heading out on the water though. We are looking forward to returning in the summer.

What fun to watch ice sculptures created by carvers at Depot Park in McCall, wander around this charming, friendly city to see prize winning carved ice creations, take the ski chair lift to the panoramic view of Central Mountains and to climb aboard the first place winning log train sculpture to hang out with the icy conductor. We dined at... More

This lake is great during the summer and winter months. When it is frozen in the winter you can walk on it! During summer it is great for boating or swimming!

Beautiful lake to enjoy a myriad of activities. Water ski, jet ski, kayak, canoe, paddle board. The north end of the lake allows access up the Payette River. Wildlife watching at it's best. Sate Park (Ponderosa) campground on the north end of lake. Scenic drive all the way around the lake. Great views.

Took a drive on the eastern side of the lake to the farthest north beach. The roads on the inside of the park were closed by this time - late November

This lake is beautiful and we drove all the way around it. Not to many places to access the beach without paying to get in a park. It is so natural looking because they have not built it up much. The park down town has access to the beach and has signs with the history about the area.

McCall and Payette lake is one of the most scenic places in Idaho. We rent a boat 2-3 times a year and have had an absolute blast every time. Mile High Marina has great rates while the Shore Lodge has some fun higher end equipment. Can't go wrong and with small children a pontoon boat is safe and fun.
