This was great. Be sure and stop just outside Ketchum at the SNRA visitors center. The Ranger was so helpful. They have a CD you can listen to as you drive to Stanley. It gives you info as you go by mile markers. Wonderful self...More

The Sawtooth Wilderness Area is an area worth coming back to over and over again. Drive over Galeena Summit and see the headwaters of the Snake river. Then enjoy the beauty of the Sawtooth mountains.

We camped for 3 nights at Easley campground. The host was friendly and knowledgeable. The pit toilets were clean and well stocked. The 10 sites had a assortment of tents and RV campers but everyone was friendly and polite. So were the dogs. It was...More

Sawtooth NRA is yet another awesome place our country is blessed to have. What you see is what you get, with great views of rapids, canyons, mountaintops, alpine lakes and a bevy of hiking opportunities, fishing, rafting, etc.

One stormy Spring afternoon in Stanley, Idaho the gloominess gave way to colors of teal in the clouds and water. A MRC B+W polariser was used to control the contrast on the water and sky. After waiting for the perfect light, the trees began to...More

Hello, I will be in the Sawtooth Mountains for a 6 day solo hiking trip. Planning on camping out at Stanley and Alice lakes while I am there. Can anyone tell me the condition of these trails? Are they well marked and maintained? Also is there any area in the wilderness where I might have a better chance of hearing some wolves? Thank you.

Sun Valley and Ketchum are adjacent to each other...where one ends the other begins. If you are staying in Sun Valley at the Sun Valley Lodge you will probably be going often to Ketchum Resturants at night. The hiking is... More
