I've been around a lot of mines in my lifetime but in my book this one has to be #1. It's a small hand dug hard rock mine with quite a mysterious history. After passing through the gift shop your guide will walk you through the mine explaining it every step along the way. There is a nice little campground... More

My little guy loves Gold! Lol. This was a lot of fun for us because we were able to see lots of interesting things and learn about old gold mines. It was a short tour but it was definitely fun.

I had some time to kill and decided to check out the mine tour. It was a very interesting and informative walking tour of a silver mine. It seems to be a family run business and they were very friendly and made you feel welcome. It's not a difficult walk for most people and children. After the tour you can... More

A real gold mine from the 1880's. The knowledgeable guide will take you into the mine and explain it's history and the mining techniques that made it. You will see the gold and get a sense of what it would have been like to be a miner in that era. After your tour, your guide will teach you how to... More

This was really neat. We got there right as it opened. Had a great tour. Very interesting. I enjoyed this one better than the silver mine in wallace.

The Crystal Gold Mine has a fascinating history that takes you back in time to the arrival of the earliest miners to northern Idaho. The walls of the mine are studded with beautiful minerals. What makes the experience, though, is the guide. He was friendly and affable and took obvious joy at telling the story of the mine and pointing... More

The staff was great. The guide was so knowledgeable and personable. I will recommend to anyone. I had taken a geology class in college, so I was able to understand what he was talking about, but to see them in a real setting was perfect. I just wanted to know what happened to those miners!!!! I found a few flakes,... More

This was a great place to visit with a pack of kids. We brought our children out to visit their grandparents, so the whole pack of cousins went along. They were aged 5-9 and we had a great time. The mine owner was very kind and considerate, a Nvey vet, and gave extra gold panning instruction to Dad, so he... More

Pretty interesting. The mine went about 600' in. Good history. Friendly tour guide. Not too crowded the day we went. Learned how to pan for gold after the tour. Didn't find gold however fun rocks were in the dirt to keep it fun.

My husband was cynical, though he loves gold, afraid it would be hokey but he had a great time. He and our 11-year-old enjoyed trying to spot gold in the quartz vein, and our 3-year-old had fun with the flashlight he was given for the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and fielded our questions throughout. We all had fun... More
