It can be a little confusing where to go once you are there. It is so big. But what beauty - a piece of the country in the city. Water features and natural grasses and fauna make this a special place to just sit a watch what happens. Family reunions, wedding receptions and a day with family can easily be... More

This is a nice state park with beautiful easy trails. The dog loved it here. She first flushed some quail, then was very interested in the cows and horses. No crowds and it's an off leash place. Seems there is a zipline and swimming pool as well as a lake with a beach. Plenty of picnic spots but no overnight... More

For a change of pace, Eagle Island provides several hikes that are accessible year round. I have found wild plums in the summer which provided me with homemade jam, have taken the dog swimming in the river or lake, or just enjoyed hikes of variable length through and around the fields. Access is really affordable if you purchase the sticker... More

First off, for those who've been to Eagle Island State Park before but haven't been there in awhile. The entrance has been moved from Hatchery Road to Eagle Island Parkway. I didn't know this and I found a block entrance at Hatchery Road. There's a $5 park fee per vehicle. If you have an Idaho State Parks Passport the $5... More

Wonderful place for the family on a hot day. Swimming area in the river, large picnic areas and if you are a bird enthusiast...osprey, egret and many other species abound.

Your family will love the water to swim in and mom and dad will like that they can keep an eye on you for easily. There are picnic tables and nice bathrooms. A water slide as well.

Eagle Island has a lot to offer. Amenities include trails, swimming, fishing, volleyball courts, disc golf course, horseshoe pits, and a single waterslide. Seems a lot of people love to get into the lake, but with an outbreak last year where a bunch of people got sick, I personally don't trust it. Also, if you take a walk around the... More
