very nice refuge near bonners ferry. Great for kids and adults. You can take a car tour around the facility. Also at the refuge headquarters you can get out and educated about the local wildlife.

Was hoping to see more wildlife. Been there twice now. Only have seen geese, some deer & an eagle. We have those at home. Will do one of their hikes there though. Maybe see more on that.

We like to use our hiking poles, but I would consider them optional for most people on this trail. Easy grade serpentine train to the top. Bench part way up if needed. The loop drive is one way and can be done with any vehicle....More

Came here at recommendation of our hotel, great, simple, day trip. It was a bit hot today but a short hike, visit at the visitor center and the auto tour was just perfect.
