We went to the Butterfly Park which is located within the same area to Poring Hot Spring. It was just a small area and nothing much to see. It looks like it is not well maintained. Not many butterflies can be found. Even if you don’t visit the place you will not lose much. We didn’t spend much time here.

Spent 3 days in Poring with the ontention to relax. I was not dissapointed. The hot springs themselves were not that interesting but the streams nearby, the nature and the sun made the trip worthwile.

I'ts a very interesting place, and you can rent very beautiful cabins ( tripadvisor help you) you can get transport by public bus - even back to K.K. Well, there is this "hot spring" - it's going slowly to fill up the tub - but it works :) There are much more interesting things to do in Poring: we loved this butterfly farm very much, you get a lot of beautiful pics! There er different tracks for walks too, even a canopy walk - there is a track to a waterfall too! ( a little one ) :) Mostly in the weekends it can get a crowded place ! att. Thursday - Friday! May be you are lucky to se a Rafflesia blooming? - there will be given info about this at the entrance! Some of the cottages are located by the river, beautiful, quiet and relaxing, fishing??- I don't know. :) A lot of divers food stalls are waiting or restaurants/hotels, good, friendly service - some places maybe a little poor preparation of the dishes Remember sun protection and optionally some heavy, special refreshments in your back bag. :) (visited Poring some years ago)

If you think you will be able to bathe in natural warm springs bubbling up from the earth in a natural setting, you will be disappointed. This is a very unnatural experience. There is one main hot spring that feeds several other little artificial pools with concrete around them and roofs over them. You can dunk your toes in most of them. In theory, you can fill a tub with hot water from the spring but in practice this will take a lot of time. If you want a cold water fill that might be possible. It gets crowded on weekends. But the canopy walk is good (see separate review) and at the entrance to the springs there will be a sign advising if a villager has a Rafflesia plant in bloom. These are very rare flowers and it’s the largest plant in the world. It’s well worth shortening your time at the hot springs and paying the MR 30 to the village to visit. Your driver and guide should take you there but if not it’s not far to the walk to the village
