We had time to spare and found this zoo perfect for us. Yes, they are adding on and expanding but we saw almost all the animals in other encounters. It was 2 1/2 hours well spent and very enjoyable. Thank you Boise for sharing.
They are renovating to improve and lots of extra activity including private tours at additional cost but are fun. July is estimated time for building to be open. So looking forward to seeing what new coming
The zoo is being renovated right now to make it even more of an attraction for families residing in or visiting Boise. This is a great place to bring friends and relatives. It's located next to the Boise Art Museum and right on the Greenbelt....More
Everyone we talk to is so nice and full of helpful & educational information.
The animals all look well cared for, and the grounds are beautiful.
We visit every year in the snow, though this year didn’t have much snow, so more animals were roaming...More
The Boise zoo is a nice, well kept zoo. Although small it has several kid friendly interactive areas. It's geared more towards elementary aged children and younger. You can pay an additional fee to feed the giraffes, which my children LOVED! Check their website for...More

The zoo was insanely cheap for some of the zoos I have been to, 7 dollars at the time I visited. Also it was largely under construction so that may of had to do with it. Decent sized property with many animals but so many...More
I usually enjoy a trip to the zoo, but was sorely disappointed in this experience. The exhibits were so small. Animals were pacing their enclosures. Many of the enclosures were basic concrete and glass enclosures. There is significant construction underway, hopefully there are more updated...More
