My boyfriend took me out to Grand Bay as a surprise. It's gorgeous and quiet. Because it was chilly we didn't see much wildlife, but it was still an amazing adventure. I also suggest climbing to the top of Kinderlou Tower! It's a breathtaking veiw.

The boardwalk and tower provide easy access into the heart of a coastal plains wetland. The boardwalk has handrails with screening so the alligators stay in the water below the walkway and you can see them Up close with no real risk. The tower stairs have handrails as well and the top of the tower has a safety fence. The... More

We went here and really enjoyed the boardwalk and lookout tower. I would definitely recommend wearing close toed shoes and pants. While on our walk we saw an alligator and two snakes.

I took my mom and son out here for a little walk after we had lunch. It was a nice day, but being that it's winter, the trees are rather bare. I'll definitely be back to see it in the spring or summer. The boardwalk is in decent shape, and probably less than a mile, round trip. It's very quite... More

It was surprisingly handicap friendly. My husband used his electric scooter. The only one board was missing on the entire walkway. It's worth visiting, quiet and beautiful.

Visited Grand bay in November and the view from the tower was amazing. The splendor of fall foliage at Grand bay was beautiful. A great time with the family.

This was my first venture "into a swamp" so I found it interesting to be able to see the trees, see how close things are and to get a sense of the history (there are signs about timber harvesting, animal life, old fence lines). It's not a long walk - and flat all the way so it's not a challenging... More

While staying with a friend in Valdosta during hurricane Matthew, my daughter and I decided to do some exploring. We hiked the 2,600-foot wooden walkway to the rebuilt fire tower and climbed to the top for an excellent view of the "18,000-acre wetlands complex of Carolina bays and forested swamp second in size only to Okefenokee Swamp". We saw several... More

Grand bay has a walking path through a marshy area. There are signs identifying the trees and palnts along the trail. Alligators and other wildlife can be seen from the boardwalk which has fencing to prevent them from coming in contact with people. There is a tall tower which has an overlook of Moody Air Force Base in the distance.... More
