The northern-most extension of the North Beach is the Savannah River Beach. Calm (little to no waves) is fun for relaxing and less crowds make for a fun day! And you will see dozens upon dozens of dolphins day in and day out from here.

Few people, dolphins swimming by, not many waves and fun watching the ships come and go. If you want to party, this isn't the beach...head south for that.

This beach technically runs from Lazaretto Creek to North Jetty of North Beach which is just before the North Beach Bird Sanctuary. I did not go all the way up to Lazaretto Creek but I think part of the beach is closed due to damage...More

If you want an authentic Tybee Beach experience, this is the beach for you. Limited access, never crowded, and excellent views of ships passing through the Savannah port.

What you will love is watching the boats, pelicans, dolphins on the river and the SAND is easy to walk on. This was never crowded and perfect for sunrise and sunset. Very peaceful.

I love this area. The beach in front of Savannah Beach and Racquet Club is nice. You can watch the Dolphins swim and the cargo ships go by. During shrimping season the shrimp boats sometimes dock right in front of the condos and it is...More

We visited the week prior to Labor Day and there were no crowds. On several occasions we were the only beach goers in sight. The sand is fluffy white from the dune to the tide line, then becomes damp and hard-packed. It is wide! The...More

We love this beach area. It's quieter with much fewer people than the main beach. There aren't big waves, but there's enough tide or whatever to be fun. You can watch the dolphins play and also watch the shrimp boats and container ships go back...More
