I love walking along this part of the beach when we are here. Quiet and relaxing. You can find some good shells if you go looking too.

We go to Savannah 2 times a year, this time we brought our bikes and decided to ride them at Tybee island, what a great relaxing ride on the island, we then stepped out onto the quiet beach, nice day, sunny and relaxing.

Staying in Savannah & decided a group of us would like to go to the ocean and heard of Tybee on the TV. Got a map at our hotel & saw 2 public parking lots so decided to drive through town & park there. No sign on the street mentioning pay parking or the foot bridge leading to the beach.... More

This was my first visit to an Atlantic beach and I have to say I was very disappointed. The eastern Gulf of Mexico beaches in Florida and Alabama are 10 times prettier. This beach was clean, but don't expect white sand and crystal blue water.

We stayed mid-island during our recent trip to Tybee and loved the beautiful, clean, expansive, quiet beach in front of our condo. We especially appreciated the fact that you are allowed to bring and set up canopies on the beach, which is no longer allowed at any of the beaches in NC and SC, where we typically stay. The only... Usually go to Myrtle Beach, SC for vacation. This part of the beach was MUCH less crowded. When we parked at 10:00 AM, only 5 of about 20 parking spaces at our oceanfront access point were occupied. Parking is $1.50/hour, which is reasonable. Can pay with quarters of a card at a street kiosk. The only reason I wouldn't give... More

If renting a home or condo, I highly recommend the Mid-beach area. It's not crowded during the week. It's generally very clean. We like 9th street to 13th street.

We discovered this beach early in our travels to the area. We loved when the kids were young because it wasn't as crowded and there always seemed to be some natural finds, plus daily dolphin visits. As our kids grew, my husband and I try to plan times when the full moon is rising nothing is more romantic after 37... More

The streets are laid out perpendicular to the beach. Residential homes are on these streets and Parking meters are in front of every home. At the end of every street is a nice wooden boardwalk that lead to a large stretch of sandy beach. The beach is easy to walk on. Every boardwalk has a wooden swing on the beach... More

The waves are pretty light in this area and the sand is very clean. We went in Winter so it wasn't crowded. A little too cold to get completely into, but we did enjoy getting our feet wet and picking up shells.
