Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

June 2021
I visited Tybee Island during my visit to Savannah in June 2021. I parked on a street near the Tybee Pier with several souvenir shops and restaurants. You have to pay for parking (you can use a credit card to pay on the parking meter). I was a bit taken aback by the fact that nobody was wearing a mask despite the fact that it was very crowded. I chose to wear a mask. It was nice to walk out on the Tybee Pier and look at the beach and the ocean. I wanted to see Tybee Island once and I doubt that I would return there. If you are visiting Savannah and have the time then it is worth a quick visit. I recommend going in the morning when it is a little less crowded. I arrived there at 11 am on a Thursday and left at 1 pm.

I visited this new restaurant tonight with a group of friends. The staff from beginning to end were kind and that makes up for a lot : ). Being a new restaurant on a busy Saturday is a challenge even without virus issues. It has a very good location for visitors to the island, and many choices on the menu. The inside was a bit noisy for me. The plates are melamine....I prefer china. The food on a scale of 10: chicken marsala 8.5, garlic mashed potatos 8.5, green beans 8, chowder 6, fried shrimp 7, low country boil 8, strawberry pecan salad 9, red snapper 8.5. I will probably go try it again next year.

Over the weekend, we decided to walk down the pier. The first time we walked down it was late at night. There were several couples sitting on benches. One couple was playing some music that I didn’t feel was appropriate. Several people were fishing off the pier.
The next day, we returned to the pier to buy some ice cream and a couple drinks. Just a heads up, the pier only accepts cash. There is an atm on the pier, but it wasn’t working properly when we tried to get cash out of it.

The Tybee Pier had no entry fee, but a sign indicated that groups of twelve or more might be charged. It is fairly long and wide and has a pavilion with bathrooms at its start. Fishing is done from the pier, but today's fishermen said things were slow. The Pier offers nice views down the beach in both directions.

Just visited Tybee for 4 days. The pier and the beach around it was very dirty. Trash laying on the beach at the end of the beach access areas and in the dunes. It really made me sad to think that there are so many irresponsible people in one place. Early in the morning we watched public workers driving dump trucks and bulldozers picking up trash along the beach. My husband spoke to one of them and he said they had picked up 62 tents that had been left - this morning:(. We can’t figure out why so many people are that careless with such a beautiful place.

Visited the pier on a recent trip. Parked on the road leading to the pier and received a $47 parking ticket. I have no problem paying for parking but the requirement was VERY POORLY marked. Looks like the city installed a central payment location to replace individual meters but didn’t bother to pay for signs. It will be a cold day in you know where before I return.

The Tybee Pier is always great to go to. It is free, but parking on the island is a bit high. (2hr min=$7). Sometimes there are many fishing from it and can get crowded, but a great place to visit while on the island.

Oh my goodness! If you are looking for the most beautiful beach....Tybee Island Georgia is the most perfect place. Maybe crowded at times but no one bothers anyone! This is a must see. It is a little expensive, but we'll worth the money. I also recommend Sting Ray's seafood!!! Mouth watering deliciousness....I couldn't do it justice trying to explain just how delicious it is. You gotta try this food. Especially if you like a plethora of Seafood! Oh my goodness!

The Tybee pier offers a snack bar area with music, food and drinks. At the end of the pier are many fishermen. There's no charge to walk out on the pier. Parking at the pier parking lot is $7 for two hours.

A few years ago, one could visit this area for free, but since then, it is pay for parking there and everywhere there is an open space on the island. It is $3.50 per hour in all available spaces. Only free parking is at the hotels.

How's the fishing off the Pier ?
What's the price to fish OFF the Pier, and the Hours open for fishing ?

Site says it is closed Monday-Thursday. Is this accurate for end of September 2020?
Written 29 September 2020
I’d say this is a seasonal thing or maybe a storm issue. When we were there in June, it was open everyday.....
Written 29 September 2020
Yes they do. At the end of the pier is a "fishing shanty" that sells bait and tackle. Hours open are posted there as well.
