A short drive from Toccoa, Ga., this historic site is interestingly intriguing, even if not visiting it on weekends when the main building is open.

This is a great look at the early and mid 1800s for the area. The Georgia Dept of Natural Resources runs this location well. There are several buildings to view and a video that gives a historical account. It was very interesting

Surprising historic site near Toccoa Falls - we visited when the Inn was not open, but still found the site fascinating, with excellent signs to explain the significance of this Inn in early American history.

Previous reviews outline the buildings, which are amazingly preserved. You can feel the history which permeates the wooden floors, the flagstone walk way, the 200+ year old Holly tree. We were so surprised to learn that 85% of the structure is original. We went on...More

This site has such a rich history. A great place for young children to visualize "hotels" in the old days and living conditions in general. Wonderful staff and great events.

There are several reviews of Traveler's Rest that tell about the buildings and the grounds so there is no need to repeat that information. Traveler's Rest is open on Saturdays so you can tour the buildings, but you can enjoy the grounds on other days...More

You cannot bring dogs into the actual Travelers Rest buildings, but you park very close to it so you could probably leave your dog on a leash and tethered close to your car.
