An excelent bike / hike trail. Beautiful bridges and tunnels along wooded trail. Trail runs form Smyrna GA into Alabama with numerous access points and parking lots.

The Silver Comet Trail is a converted railroad line that has been nicely paved and runs from Atlanta to Alabama. A bit crowded on the weekends especially closer to Atlanta but easy enough to start out a little further west.

This is great for a long flat bike ride. If there is a slope it is long and very gradual. The ride is in a safe area for the most part. There is parking along the trail, but it is rather limited.

I’ve lived in this area for 20+ years and rode this bike trail often. It was also great to have the bike shops for equipment and repairs.

Whether you cycle, run or walk, the Silver Comet is perfect. This trail is well kept, patrolled by local law enforcement for safety and offers a safe place (cars aren't allowed) for exercising.
