The pier is situated at the end of the shopping strip. It is wide and partially covered with seating on,the sides so that you could rest out of the sun. There were many fishermen busy trying to lure a fish or two which provided entertainment....More

Maybe one has to be a fan of sunsets, but I thought that this was an exceptional sunset location. Easy to get great unobstructed views towards the west, as well as turning back to see the lighthouse. The pier is well designed and well maintained...More

Took pictures here. Not much of interest for any length of time. Guess you could "people watch" for awhile.

This is a Nice fishing pier, not too busy. Nice to grab some ice cream and walk out and watch the sunset.

Great views and located in the village. Clean and well cared for. Usually pretty crowded during tourist season. You will catch a lot of shark (usually small). Easy to get your line caught and lose lures at the end of the pier.

Good parking, nicely maintained, looks across at Jekyll Island. If you're into bait fishing, this is one of the best locations on SSI. A nice walk and a must-see.

It's always a good time walking the pier. Love seeing all the fishermen and families enjoying the time together. Love the view at night. Great to walk the water line at low tide.

Take the time to walk down the pier, especially at Sunset if you can. It's so worth it! And you can get some great pictures!

Apparently yes, but of the hundreds that fish there, no one does. I have asked at the local fishing tackle store as well and they told me not to bother with one.

I have only Ben to the St simons pier. I have seen a wide variety of fish caught here, including shrimps, blue crab, small hammerhead sharks, etc. I have also seen a lot of people getting collectively skunked. That said it... More
