My husband and I took our 2 children (boys 7 and 5yrs old) to the Lighthouse Museum on Saint Simons Island, they had a blast climbing up the 129 steps of the lighthouse, I personally am a tad bit out of shape and my calves were shaking after I came down but my husband found comedy in it and we... Wonderful experience. Hosts were friendly and very knowledgable. Museum was full of information. Gained a new respect for lighthouses and those that were delicate to caring and maintaining them. Wear comfortable shoes there are steps involved if you go to the top. If you can make the climb the view is spectacular. Also WATCH the documentary before start tour--it is... More

Beautiful place in a neat little town. Did not know this was even here, just driving by. It was getting late so we did not get to see everything but what we saw was very charming. There was even a guy on horseback riding by, which you do not see very often. Probably will never be in the area ever... More

Great short film about the history. The old lighthouse keepers house has several wonderful exhibits and the upstairs is set up with period furniture just as it would have been at the time. The climb to the top of the lighthouse is worth it when you see the views!

We spray about 2 hours visiting the St. Simons lighthouse museum and climbing up into the lighthouse. (129 steps. It's do-able.) Lovely view from the top.

I have visited St. Simons Island multiple times and each time I go back, I always make a trip to the lighthouse. The museum is nice and informative but the best part for me, is being able to climb to the top of the lighthouse. The view can't be beat!! It is a bit of a climb but totally worth... More

Beautiful area and the lighthouse and surrounding areas are lovely. Nice walk beside the water and lighthouse museum and gift shop was first class. A must see if you're in the area.

The lighthouse history is memorized in a stunning display in the light keepers cottage. A walk up to the top gives a great view.....also serves to respect the lighthouse keepers who had to walk to the top every 75 minutes! Locals run to the top for their daily cardio.....oh,my! The museum gift shop is one of the best I have... More
