It's pretty house and the grounds are lovely; they gave a good background on the family and history. The house was in great shape with nice furnishings, not spectacular. I wouldn't go out of my way for a visit, but it was nice enough if...More

Indside and out this home is well kept and the tours are small and informative. You get a chance to really see what life was like for the elite around the Civil War era.

Second visit here and doors were locked (again) during normal posted business hours. Called and couldn't get through to anyone. So we left.

We visited on a Sunday afternon, and I was especially found of the gardens. The house is majestetic, and in beautiful surroundings, a good place for a littel stroll adn break.
