We love history and enjoy being at the place where historical events happened. Not everyone knows that MIlledgeville was once the capitol once the capital of Georgia. So glad they have preserved this building.

This was very interesting and the tour guide provided a lot of unknown history to the people in our group. Highly recommend.

We tried to visit only to find that the museum is no longer there. We were able to walk through portions if this grand structure, but the museum is now closed and is being transformed into classrooms for the college.

Visit the old State Capitol. See what it looked like in the Antebellum era (at least until Sherman came through!).

The museum is definitely worth your time....whether you are a long time resident or a visitor. It is an exceptionally well designed and executed history of the area. Milledgeville is fortunate to have a museum of such high quality.
