Recommended by the visitor centre, an easy walk from there, very well maintained, laid out over many years with many family plots. Set in an area of houses of historic interest an excellent walking tour again details from the visitor centre.

We went to visit Flannery O'Connor's grave, which is easy to find just to the left of the front gate. There is a gazebo with a display right at the front gate too. The cemetery is easy to get to and well maintained.

This is one of the oldest and most beautiful cemeteries around. It's gated and very well kept. There are tours that go through that tell you history and history of city's founders that are buried there. So many interesting stories. My husband and I got married here in 2011 in front of Dixie Haygood's grave. (The Lil Georgia Magnet....she traveled... More

You can trace much of the "old south" heritage here. There are graves from Revolutionary veterans, many civil war vets, some very elaborate statues. You can park and stroll around on a self guided tour. Pamphlets are free at the entrance.

The cemetery has many notable burials and had a wonderful gazebo at the entrance with maps and information. Worth the stop and visit. Just don't knock on Mr. Fish's mausoleum.

If you enjoy seeing old headstones and visiting places with history this is a small but nice cemetery. Some of the headstones date back to the Civil war.

Beautiful place to visit and see so much history throughout. I would reccommend anyone to visit this area and learn history that we aren't taught in school

We love to explore old cemeteries. This one had brochures for self guided tours. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed just walking around, wondering about the people buried there. The highlight was finding Flannery O'Connor's grave.

You could spend as little or a long time walking through this cemetery, just reading headstones and getting a feel for the Milledgeville area over the years. This is one of the Four main Squares of Milledgeville.
