The earthen works protected the port of Sunbury during the American Revolution and the War of 1812, and were later used as a Civil War Encampment. Museum has displays of civilian and military life during Georgia's Colonial, Revolutionary and Antebellum past.

Amazed to learn that this area was actually competition for the ports in Savannah before being destroyed by the British in the Revolutionary war. Beautiful views and one of the the best history lessons.

Loved it. Thank you, Sarah for making us feel so welcome. I will definitely be back to see a reenactment. Being in the place where my ggg grandfather fought and was captured. It was truly a good day indeed.

We enjoyed touring this beautiful Revoluntionary War fort. First you see a video then self-tour. A small museum then outside tour. A nice gift shop.
