This whole island is absolutely amazing. A great day trip if you want to see the sights! We stopped in on our way home from Savannah and I'm so glad we did. Driftwood beach is a must!

This was a very interesting tour of the old rich (Rokefeller, JP Morgan, etc). We were able to view two cottages of the old rich. The tram drove us around the historic district for 90 minutes.

My husband and I keep returning to Jekyll Island. We love the atmosphere and all this area offers. A favorite spot for us is the Hotel and its grounds. So much history and grand scale beauty.

If you don't know about the history of Jekyll Island, you're in for a real treat. The Federal Reserve was created here in a secret meeting which changed the way our monetary system was funded. The first transcontinental phone call was placed here. Beyond this...More

We took the 90 minute trolley tour which was very educational and I would highly recommend. The tour includes two house tours.

I love seeing how people lived, from the very wealthy to the regular folks. These are the 'cottages' that industrialists from the north lived and entertained in at the turn of the last century during the summers - people like J.P Morgan, Wm. Vanderbilt, Joseph...More

I really got a sense of the history of Jekyll Island State Park in Georgia. There are very informative signage and history lessons throughout. I gained so much knowledge.

Is this somewhere we could we just walk around in the afternoon, see sights, browse shops, and have lunch on a Saturday afternoon?

Walking around and seeing sights, absolutely! They do have some shops, but I'm not sure about lunch. They have some snack shops, but no actual restaurant.
Hi, PasoWarrior. What would you like to know about this attraction? Did you rent bikes on the island? Where?

When you get off the ferry, they have bike rentals.
No I am looking for a BandB in the historic area and I keep getting motels, hotels, etc. Can you direct me to a source? Thanks

You can try airb&b to find independently owned cottages and condos & boats available for private rentals. Private rentals are also available through the realty companies. There are no traditional large b&b's on Jekyll.
