Driftwood Beach

A beautiful beach on Jekyll Island that is strewn with the bones of trees long fallen into the surf.

Beautiful but we couldn't spend the time that we would have liked because the horse flies were terrible in Sept.

Get there before sunrise!!! This is an iconic area that is photographed over and over. Very easy access.

Such a beautiful beach. We first visited this beach in 2015, November to be exact. Well in less than a year we have been two more times. Me my wife got married on this beach. We couldn't ask for a better place. On our day, the temp was 72, the wind was calm, only one person that happened to be... More

Driftwood beach is always a looked forward to adventure. Unfortunately this year Hurricane Matthew did serious damage to the remaining sand dunes and the longevity of the experience has become limited. The entire north east tip of the island is in an environmental jeopardy to being completely consumed by the sea. I highly recommend this as a priority part of... More

This place is as eerie and creepy as it is beautiful and magnificent! Not a very large beach, and a little difficult to get around and navigate, but definitely worth the extra effort and physically demanding trek. The tide comes in fast, deep and aggressively, so you should only visit during low tides. But whatever you do, be sure you... More

Bring your camera and bug spray. With every turn of the head, natural beauty abounds. Bring coffee and a blanket before daybreak in the morning to enjoy some of the most gorgeous sunrises ever.

The beach is beautiful. I love taking pictures there. It is peaceful, natural, unique, and serene. It is one of the best beaches I have been to.

This was a great getaway from the crowds for me and my dog. We even saw dolphins! There is very much driftwood there presently due to hurricane Matthew so the photo ops aren't as plentiful. It was still fun though.

Go at sunrise. Very peaceful, serene and inspiring. If you ate an artist or photographer, you will love this place. Kids love it too. They love climbing all over the huge driftwood jingle gyms.
