I visited the area to do a little geocaching. The trail and park are really nice. The only thing I didn't care for was a few homeless people sitting around and sleeping on the park benches.

Wilshire Trails Park has wooden and paved paths with a covered bridge to walk through and many streams and beautiful scenery to admire. The trail is mostly shaded with benches sparsely located to stop and take a rest.

This was a beautiful walk along a creek in town from the Wilshire Park playground to main street. Main street is a nice little area for window shopping and having a lovely meal.

Gainesville isn't designed for pedestrians! So this walk connecting Longwood Park (by the lake) to downtown Gainesville is the best way for those on foot to enjoy a pleasant walk to/from downtown. The walk is flat & easy, and has the 'to-scale' solar system trail...More

Wilshire is set on a beautiful creek with gorgeous trees all around. It has fun play equipment and a great walking trail through the forest, by the creek. Our granddaughter loves all of the park and the butterflies, too!!!

Wilshire is a very family friendly park. The playground has been updated for a more modern design. The restrooms are clean and convenient. The walking trails are shaded so those summer walks are cool. There are many places along the way for a great family...More

Kind of, it is paved and a lot of the path has recently been worked on. However, one section is a boardwalk so they may have trouble there.
