We recently purchased a RV and our first stay was at Don Carter over Labor Day weekend. It was wonderful. We took our own kayaks, but they do have some you can rent. 2 places where you can get into Lake Lanier, with boat parking...More

We have visited Don Carter State park several times over the past year - most recently late fall. We enjoy the hiking trails and, in the summer, the beach is always busy. Very convenient park for us as we live in Hall County. Thanks to...More

Wonderful campground. Close to interesting day trips. Campground is clean, sites level, and have a nice picnic table area.

I love Don Carter! It is a hidden gem in Hall County. We enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, swimming, and geocaching! My only complaint would be the location and size of the bathrooms. Sometimes it is a little walk to get there. Check it out...More

We RV camped with another couple loved the park. Lots of wildlife and beauty surround. The biggest flaw at this campground is that they don’t have a reservation system for RV sites. It is first come first serve and people come before 1pm check in,...More

We loved this small park and our site! The employees in the office on our arrival were friendly and informative. The park was well maintained and extremely quiet. Bathhouse/restrooms were very clean each time we visited. Some sites were more spacious than others and some...More

We take our 2 camping and hiking. They allow dogs, so I do not think they would restrict them on the water.
