We went on a recent Saturday afternoon in mid July. Not many people here on this hot day. We had a great hike on the boardwalk out to the tower and back. We will visit again when it’s cooler.

We walked the boardwalk to the Owls Roost Tower and enjoyed the hike. Nice sunny weather, but cool and although we had bug repellent with us, no need after all.

Yes, pets are allowed on the Boardwalk but might have some trouble climbing the stairs of the Owl Roost. Roost is 40 feet high. And as on all public land, pets must be on leashes 6-10 feet long. Length varies. To be safe... More
