Paid £12 entrance for a very disappointing day spent less than 1 hour visiting a poorly maintained garden and the walks are closed off so no real point in going there a walk too Tallisker beach far more interesting

Hello - we are extremely sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit. We do hope that you managed to find time to visit the Museum of the Isles, which is included in the ticket? It contains 5 galleries of valuable artefacts and displays about Highland and clan history, and is Skye's only Museums Galleries Scotland accredited museum. The walks within the gardens and adjacent woodland are all accessible but we regret that the longer walking trails can no longer be accessed directly from the gardens. However these routes are still open for everyone to walk on (for free) via different access points, and I hope this was made clear to you at the ticket office. I will remind my colleagues to make this clear. Thank you for your feedback nevertheless, and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your Skye trip.

We hadn't planned on doing this one as it was quite a drive from where we staying in Portree. Had been recommended by family and the Museum had just reopened after refurbishment. The Museum is worth the visit as it very informative and full of artifacts. The gardens were pleasant but not as large or varied as Dunvegan. The castle was a bit disappointing, but the views from it to the mainland were lovely.

Thank you for making the effort to visit us from Portree and for taking time to write a review. We do try to make clear that the castle is a ruin and sadly can only be admired from afar at the moment, but we are pleased you enjoyed the museum and the views!

We stopped here on our way to the ferry. Having visited previously, we expected to be able to have a light lunch in the cafe.
No chance. The cafe/restaurant & gift shop appears to be permanently closed and the only option was a trailer in the car park selling coffee in plastic cups and some not very appetising pastry things, all of which were over priced. We had coffees which were definitely not worth the money.

Since places to eat at lunchtime are rather scarce in this area, it's rather short sighted to close what was, once, a fairly good cafe/ restaurant.

We are very sorry that you were disappointed when you stopped off on the way to the ferry. The Stables cafe is temporarily closed in 2022 due to necessary works. We have tried to make that clear on our website, social media and advertising and are sorry if the message had not got through. The shop is open Wednesday - Sunday when the gardens are open and it is situated in the ticket office. We plan to reopen the Stables next year and look forward to seeing you on your next visit.

A nice place for a stroll, gardens are starting to bloom. Castle looks great but no access due to safety concerns.

Cafe & Museum shut for essential work but couldn’t see anything being worked on at both locations, mobile snack bar very expensive and limited food options.

Just down by the harbour food is 25% cheaper.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We are sorry for any disappointment with the closure of the Stables and Museum. The works are internal so may not have been obvious. We are pleased you enjoyed strolling in the gardens and hope you will be able to visit again when we are fully open.

We called in to look around the gardens whilst we were on Skye.
It was a little early in the season so not a lot of flowers were out but we had a nice walk around the park.
Pity the cafe wasn't open as it was nice weather to pop in for a drink.

Thank you for visiting and leaving us a review. We're sorry the cafe isn't open this year though we will have a refreshment van opening soon. We hope you'll be able to return some time and enjoy a drink and the spring/summer flowers!

There's not much left of the castle itself and unfortunately it's in such a state that it's unsafe to walk around the buildings, but they're picturesque from the other side of the fence... and the gardens and estate itself is beautiful. There's also a nice little museum where you can learn more about the islands and Scottish culture and history. The cafe is good too. Worth a visit, just don't get your hopes up about exploring the castle ruins, it's really just a quick walk-by for some nice photos! Not like the other castles where you can walk around the structure.

Beautiful extensive gardens to wander around. Attractive flower beds. However, most notable for their majestic specimen trees, some over 150 years old. The museum was closed the day we went, which was disappointing because it would be interesting for everyone wanting to learn more about Scottish history.

Thank you for visiting and for leaving us a 5 star review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the gardens and especially the trees. We are very sorry that the museum was closed when you visited. As we are nearing the end of the season we are operating on slightly reduced opening hours. We do hope you will be able to visit on another occasion and apologise for any disappointment.
