Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An environment quite different from the rest of the island. Very well kept and a very nice walk in the shade. Good for bird watching and spotting lizards. The guide could be a little more knowledgeable, she only knew the three species of mangroves.

boardwalk in need of repair. Spent more time making sure I wasnt on a splintered board or a missing one than lookinf at the mangroves. Some of the raiings missing too.
Readings at each point talked about flora and fauna and wildlife you may encounter...all we say were couple of iguannas and surprisingly a blue little one...

This is a nice walk and totally different to the rest of the island. This is what's left of the pure nature on it. The only place where you don’t find trash everywhere.

We had the pleasure of being guided by Jorge who did an excellent job!
Make sure to ask for him to guide you!

The nature itself is amazing - lots of birds, butterflies, crabs, mangrove trees lurking in the water. The path for visitors is quite long and definitely needs some benches for tired ones to rest. part of the path is made of old tyres filled with cement. That ruins the picture of nature.

It was nice but a lot of plastic around here... I'd rather pay double the entrance fee, and half of the money goes to someone who cleans the trash up...

But the guide was really friendly!

We took a kayak tour through the mangroves. If you have been to mangroves before there aren't going to be a lot of surprises here, but it's a nice escape from the city and there is a short trail you can hike on. Easy taxi or bus ride from the center. Bring repellant for the mosquitos!

If you want to visit this interesting mangrove reserve and even have a bit of fun, rent a bike at one of the accommodation in San Andres, the mangroves are near the city, the road is flat and within 30 minutes you are in place. If you have already visited similar mangroves in tropical Asia or Africa, you will not be surprised, but you can still spend some pleasant hours watching the crabs, and if you are lucky and iguanas. Beware, after sunset, there are plenty of mosquitoes!Entrance is free!

There is a small place that takes you to the mangroves and you can snorkel. You are in 2 man transparent kayaks and it is amazing. I am not a “tour person” but this was great. Low pressure and when you return they give you tuna, yucca and plantains. Delicious!

The fauna is preserved in this area, it’s a national reserve where you can find mangroves swamp. You must take a boat to visit this beautiful place.
