About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Murrindindi near the township of Yea just north of the Great Dividing Range, Sedona Estate has been built from the ground up by owners Paul Evans and Sonja Herges. From its humble beginnings in 1998, Paul and Sonja’s vision has been to produce regionally distinctive wines of impeccable quality. As early pioneers in the region, they planted the Italian variety Sangiovese in 2001; its continuous success has seen a recent vineyard expansion of Sangiovese to the north facing hillside block and new plantings of the old French variety Carmenere. First commercial crops are eagerly awaited!

Nice little place with amazing views and some terrific wines. We loved their Sangiovese which was excellent and they do little cheese and meat platter boards which we devoured! Definitely a must visit if your in the area.

We dropped in today to Sedona Winery (followed the signs off Melba Highway) and we were pleasantly surprised. A great Sparkling and enticing couple of Merlots, and awesome Shiraz!!

Plus the kids got to play with the dog!

We went to Sedona Estate winery yesterday with friends for an Easter Sunday special event- one that we all agreed was excellent and we all want to go again next year. We had previously booked a table to enjoy a generous, delicious, beautiful locally prepared platter of delicacies {at under $45 to share between two} along with Sedona's excellent wines and we all enjoyed the wonderful, calming views across the beautiful valley. We were waited on and totally spoiled by Sonja and her partner Paul along with the lovely, friendly waitress service of Jamie. This incrediblel winery is a fast developing local gem that produces red and white wines at the very top end of the wine spectrum- we were amazed at the fantastic quality of their wines and all of us bought several bottles to take home and savour later with a great meal. Yesterday's special event is a special one that also provides pleasant to the ear live music as well as a beautiful setting under cover of a generous marquis across the magnificent Murrindindi area near Yea. Top this all off with special wines and it becomes an experience to crave again. Platters to share though are only available on the weekends and the winery is not open on Mondays. We are definitely booking again next year. Watch this space- this winery is going places in the wine world. A true local gem of the diamond category.

There are restaurant facilities but it seems the main function of Sedona Estate is as a winery with wine-tastings available. Wines are at the quality end of the scale. Snacks are available and the view of local hills is very soothing. Only 10 minutes from Yea.

Terrific cellar door tucked away in a magical part of murrindindi. Fantastic local wine and produce which is highly underrated! Well worth a slight detour off the main tourist track

Driving back to Melbourne from Wangaratta via Yea, we happened upon the small Sedona Estate winery. Tucked away off main roads and nestling between rolling hills, what a find! A variety of wines to taste, which are all of good quality. The cheese based platter is plenty for two sharing, containing a tasty selection of cheeses and artisan foods with plenty of rustic bread.
We were made very welcome by the owners and we were impressed by the quality of everything there - including the very modern toilet!

I visited this special winery with my hubby over Melbourne's cup long weekend. The scenery is marvellous as well as wines and service. We felt welcome and Sonja took the time to explain us all about their wines. We had a tasting with a very good variety of whites and reds; also have a cheese platter which was absolutely delicious. If you want to visit a special and intimate winery then this is the place!

Worth a day trip to this secluded, but charming cellar door. Tree lined country lane, drive through a scenic valley to arrive at a stylish, intimate venue. Excellent wine tasting, whilst absorbing the lovely surroundings and admiring artwork by a local, a welcoming open fire, what more could you ask for.......but an excellent Artisan cheese platter.
Bypass pretentious cellar doors in the Yarra Valley, and experience something special in Murrindindi.

Thank you for visiting us in Winter. It is a special time when the beautiful rolling hills are green and our Sedona Estate reds taste even better in front of the fire place. Hope to see you again soon!

A small vineyard situated in the beautiful Murrindindi valley near Yea offers cellar door tastings and sales. Wines are high quality boutique. Owners Paul and Sonja are passionate about their wines. Rather than just shop for wine stay for a hearty cheese tasting platter and linger whilst sipping on a glass or two of their wine on the terrace over looking the vineyard and Murrindindi valley vistas. Periodically they have music entertainment and or art showings. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a sunny afternoon. We have visited several times. Visit now with the balmy Autumn weather. Check opening times.
