This beautiful building is now a perfect venue for weddings; which is exactly why we were in Decatur and had the opportunity to visit the courthouse. The courthouse was a charming venue and we had a delightful evening celebrating in this building and town!

This is where locals go for jury duty and such. The general area around here is nice: lots of shops, restaurants, and bars. But I would never suggest that one visit the courthouse itself...unless one was involved in a trial.

I found this interesting; there was a small monument to veterans of 4 wars in the 20th century tucked into some bushes. A much larger monument to confederate soldiers (pictured) prominently displayed in front of the courthouse. At least they got rid of the flag.

Incredible wedding and rehearsal dinner venue. Beautiful marble floors and columns. Downstairs for cocktail hour. Upstairs for ceremony and dining.

My boyfriend and I went to a beautiful, intimate wedding ceremony here. The marble floor and walls were stunning! If you are looking for small venue for a party or wedding I would keep the Historic Courthouse in mind!
