This house was beyond believe. It gave us a true insight in the life of a great family. Their taste of interior design and grandeur is awesome.

Fascinating how they used ingenuity before technology._We had lunch on the back porch while watching the wild horses pass and graze.

Walking the grounds and taking the tour of Plum Orchard gives you a glimpse of the opulent lifestyle of the Carnegie’s. Some of the features in this home were truly before their time. Money really can buy everything.

A great trip with lots of history which increased my desire to learn about the island and how Plum Orchard was built. The family history is extremely interesting and filled with stories of strong women who dedicated their lives to uphold their values.

Very well kept house of one of the Carnegie children. The park service maintains it. Very good tour to explore the house.

Defintely not worth the tortuous van ride, but perhaps worth a bike or boat ride. Don't bring elderly or health impaired people on the van ride.

The only way to get to it is to bike, walk or take the tour van so it probably wouldn’t have the option of a wedding. I would recommend checking with the National Park Service there.
