About
Yonah Mountain Vineyards is one of the premier North Georgia winery destination. We have just completed our new tasting room that overlooks our vineyards. This unique octagon structure has breathtaking views of the vineyards and Yonah Mountain itself. Stay tuned as later this year we will open a 10,000 square foot event facility, one of the biggest in North Georgia!

- HillfizzPace, Florida135 contributionsGreat ViewsWe’ve been coming here for several years now. It’s a very scenic and well done facility and vineyard. Wines are excellent even though a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Facilities are beautiful and classy. Staff very friendly and serving. The owners ever come around occasionally to sit and talk. Highly recommended.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 February 2024
- its5oclocksumwhereDerry, New Hampshire452 contributionsExceptional Wine and AmbianceThis winery offered a truly unforgettable experience. The wines were absolutely top-notch, and the flight options allowed us to try a variety of their offerings. The ambiance was incredibly romantic, perfect for a special date night. While on the pricier side, the quality of the experience definitely justified the cost. The staff was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable about the wines. The owner even came out to greet us personally, which was a nice touch. The live guitar music created a lovely atmosphere and added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Highly recommend this winery for anyone looking for a special occasion or just a romantic night out with amazing wine!Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 March 2024
- Keith D20 contributionsPrize wines in Georgia... Who knew?My wife and I stopped by to check out this winery while weekending in Helen GA. We had such an amazing experience, we went back a second day AND joined the wine club. Not only is the wine superior to what we have tasted in Napa, Paso Robles and Charlottesville but the entire tasting experience was unlike any other. Tanner, the gentleman who served us have us a thorough overview of the flight we were sampling and then you take it outdoors and view the mountains and the vineyard. We were then graced with the presence of the owner Bob Miller who sat with us and explained his passion for wine and why they don't cut corners resulting in their stay of fine wines. Bob then played the piano for us and took us on an impromptu tour of the winery. He truly makes you feel like family. We live in Florida and have agreed that we will make the 18 hour round-trip drive to personally pick up our wines hoping that we run into Bob once again. See you in December!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 August 2024

Ok, so we're more use to West Coast wine tasting (especially Lake Chelan, WA), and this is nothing like that. We had just visited our first winery in GA, Serenity Cellars in Clevland and that followed the west coast style. We came here expecting the same, but there was a line with a register outside where you ordered. None of the personalized welcome and wine tasting with us. It was $35 for 4 wines, 2 oz each or you but a bottle. At that price we decided to go with a bottle of Cab Franc for $50, then to our amazement they gave us 2 plastic wine cups or we could purchase a glass for $5 each. Who wants to drink a $50 bottle of wine from plastic cups. It was so commercial and sterilized, no personal service or touch, just join the line, place your order and pay, and then pay more. Not for me. There's plenty of other wineries around, don't waste your time. So far my recommendations are Serenity and The Cottage, both close by and nice friendly staff and a true wine tasting experience. This place has a nice setting and views, but that's all it's got going for it, the wine was only so so.

I had no intention yesterday to help fund the Winery's expansion given the PRICES they charge for a "flight" and their cheese platter. Yes, the atmosphere is nice but the prices require one to travel with an armored truck. I recommend that potential customers review their offerings and pricing on their website before you drive to the mountain. You will thank yourself and not pay $35 for 4 - 2 oz samples for $34 (with one stemware thrown in for good measure). Then, the cheese platter came with crackers that may have come from the bottom of the box since many of them were broken in the baggie they served them in.

Good day and thank you for visiting Yonah Mountain Vineyards!
We appreciate your feedback. We have shared it with our staff and will take it into account during a future quarterly business review.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon recently at Yonan Mountain Vineyard. Their wines are excellent, utilize vines from France, and, thus, differ from many of the North Georgia varieties. The tasting room is lovely and offers fabulous views of the mountain range. They offer cheese plates to pair with your wine selections. There is also a marvelous patio area with fire tables that keep away the chill. Finally, the young woman providing entertainment (guitar and vocals) was outstanding.
This is definitely a vineyard to add to your list!

Even on a cold January day without much greenery, the setting was beautiful. There's plenty of outdoor seating with heaters and fire pits to enjoy the Yonah view. Inside is a large circular room with lots of windows and a mountain-scene mural painted on the walls. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the venue is lovely.

The employee was sub-par in customer service, the choice of a $14 “glass” of wine was a cheap plastic cup, and the wine was so inferior. I was so appalled at the cost compared to the experience. It is difficult for me to imagine someone would book a wedding or other event at this venue….for the amount of money spent to build this site, I can’t imagine how they can stay in business

We came here for a wine tasting. I was shocked that the cost of a 2oz pour of 4 or 5 wines in plastic cups was $30! We had come to taste wines and buy a few bottles because it was recommended, so we decided to stay and check it out anyway. The wines were not very good. We spent $60 tasting a flight of their whites and a flight of their reds. We didn't buy any bottles. I was also disappointed to see that most of the guests were not wearing face masks when up and walking around without any food or drink in hand. This place was definitely not worth visiting.

Beautiful setting but several miles out of the way. They did not offer tastings (🙁) but did suggest a glass of their wine for $14. It would come in a plastic cup but I could buy a souvenir wine glass for another $5. I found this overpriced and frankly rude, not sow we were treated in other wineries. We left without trying the wine. This is how you run off customers. I won’t be back.

The firepits and pizza food truck were the best part of our experience. No one in our party liked any of their wines, which are now served in GLASSES. However, you pay upfront for a deposit on the glasses, and it is refunded to you on the return of the glass. Flights were still in plastic cups. View are wonderful, ambiance great with music outside on the weekends.

Good evening and thank you for visiting.
Our wine flights are meant to be poured into the glass that comes with the flight.

I returned to the winery during Thanksgiving weekend after a two year hiatus (pre Covid) with my parents and we absolutely loved our experience! There were some changes but all in all we thought they actually improved our visit. We loved sitting outdoors around a fire pit and it was easy to order tasting flights. They come with plastic cups and cost $35 but you can also enjoy at your leisure at s table rather than have someone wait for you to finish and pour the next round. We sent to another tasting room before and the difference between the two was night and day - next time we will definitely plan for more time at Yonah! They keep expanding and adding features and still beautiful views. Worth the short drive from Helen.

Yonah Mountain Vineyard is serving their wine in plastic cups still. If you want glass, you have to purchase one for $5. We went yesterday and there was only 1 area to purchase wine and only 1 person working at that area. The girl taking our order wasn't very friendly. I've been to this winery previous and found the staff unfriendly at that visit as well.

Thank you for your feedback and for visiting Yonah Mountain Vineyards!
The global pandemic has changed how we keep our staff and visitors safe. One of the tactics we have implemented is to not allow any product or glassware back into our facility once it has left. We offer two ways to consume our wine on site; 1) a free plastic glass or 2) a $5 commemorative Riedel wine glass that normally retails for $15.
We pride ourselves in offering an outstanding experience and we will share your feedback with our team.

I am interested in staying over the weekend near Yonah winery. Any suggestions?
Written 25 October 2018
If you stay in Helen Ga, you can walk to places downtown and are also close to Yonah.

Is this ok to do with children? I have a 15 and 12 year old.
Written 20 September 2016
We took our 15 year old with us. Not much for him to do as he can't partake of the tasting, but he enjoyed being with our family. There were people there with younger children and it was fine. Just always remember that when you go to a primarily adult venue, kids may here adult things.
