For the casual traveler or the history buff like myself, the Vann house is a must visit for everyone traveling in the area. A fine example of early 1800's architecture and the mixing of the Cherokee and the settlers ways of life, this historic site...More

Beautiful brick plantation house. This place is full of history. Great place to learn how live was before electricity, running water, and other thing we now take for granted

Most enjoyable. The exhibits, film, and tour were very informative. The ranger on duty for our visit possessed a wealth of knowledge and shared it with us enthusiastically.

The construction of the building & story of the Vanns was very interesting. I was also looking for a connection to the Vanns in my ancestry.

Beautiful house. I was surprised at the accessibility of the house. We were allowed in every room on all three floors. The home is beautifully decorated. We learned so much about the Cherokee and the Vanns. The tour was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Hours and dates of operation, planning to visit area this week (Tuesday) with friends and would love to show them one of my favorite sites from my childhood. I grew up in Murray County, remember visiting the Vann House many times in my youth and want to return to share with friends and family.

Unfortunately, the Chief Vann House is closed on Tuesday. The hours of operation are Thursday - Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. Maybe you could hold off your trip until Thursday?
