Amazing Antique Auto Museum in Cairo
Aug. 2016 • Friends
We had the opportunity to enjoy this antique car museum while visiting Cairo. I have been to several antique car museums and this hidden gem stands with the best. The museum has three buildings and the museum owner, Wayne Hadden, will be delighted to show you all three. The first building has antique cars from many generations including a 1921 Kentworthy, a 1929 Studebaker President Cabriolet, model Ts, a Pierce Arrow and many more. The walls and trophy cases are filled with ole time memorabilia. The second building has more cars as well as antique motorcycles and bicycles. My favorite was a 1948 Indian as well as the early motorized bicycles. The third building has antique fire trucks and other vehicles, all worth a look. This is not surprising as Mr. Hadden retired as the Cairo fire chief. The museum is only open on the first Saturday of each month, or by appointment. Call ahead or check with the people in nearby Mr. Chick which is run by Mrs. Hadden.
