It is a real touch of history right in the middle of a residential area. You will not believe how big this tree is :)

This was a rare treat for me. Oak trees don't get nearly as big back home. We had to stop to take a few photos. I'm glad they built the road around it to preserve it.

Very disappointed by the lovers oak. I have seen better in my own yard. Instead of this tree, go to Darien and see the spot where the meeting tree was before it was cut down.

Had to see this tree and grab the geocache hidden inside. I'm 55 but I just had to climb the tree and take a pic.

This tree is situated in the small grass divide in the road. Luckily the road is small and not too busy. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but if your near by, worth a gander.

Must see if you are in Brunswick. Beautiful old trees, intertwined, growing in the middle of the street.

beautiful huge tree in the center of the divided road. it has been determined that the tree is around 900 years old. Just a tree in the center of a divided road, but it is BEAUTIFUL - and so worth driving over to check it out

My partner and I had heard of the Lover's Oak for quite a while and hunted it down when coming down I95 from Savannah to Brunswick. It's easy enough to find once you're there. It's an enormous oak and is said to date from the 1100s. There are all kinds of local and area legends about lovers visiting it and... More

So glad it is being preserved. Beautiful huge +900 year old oak tree in the middle in a lovely historic neighbour hood.

Interesting Stop between Savannah and Jekyll Island. It is in the middle of a neighborhood so we made the trip very quick. It is easily labeled with information. Good photo opportunity.
