Desoto Falls state park is a very nice place to visit. This was my first visit to the park, and I will definitely go back again. There were two main trails, the upper falls and lower falls trails. There was also more trails leading to...More

Short hike and beautiful spot! Free parking. Comfortable walk. It can be slippery when wet. Family spot.

Interesting falls, we went to see the upper falls. The scary part was that as I was heading towards the entrance, there were posters everywhere about active season for bears, do not feed them and be aware. After three posters, I surely was concern as...More

On you way to or from Blood Mountain, it's worth to take the short detour to Desoto Falls. This National Park campground is well maintained but I found the sites very close to one another, the luscious vegetation allows little sunlight making the place dark...More

We enjoyed hiking on the trails to the falls and spending some time around the water. The falls were almost dry due to the drought, but it was still beautiful and worth the trip.

Yes, it's a great trail for dogs. I take both of mine every time I go. The lower fall has part of the trail that narrows in parts but it's fine. Walking to the upper fall the trail is 5 to 6 feet wide all the time.
