About
Trekking mount Rinjani with Us its mean you are part of our Eco-Friendly trekking Program: RINJANI GREEN TRAIRLS Sustainability has always been at the heart of everything we do. We want everyone to trek in a way where they not only leave no trace, but they leave mountains better than they found them. This is the mission of our Green Trails initiative. The most visible impact of the Green Trails initiative has been planting a tress and the removal of over 1-2 sack each porter of litter from trekking trails. Everyday, even as you read this, our team, including our trekkers, are cleaning up trails we used sack bags. While picking up litter is easy, they further do the most difficult work — they segregate the waste for the right way of disposal. But Green Trails goes much beyond cleaning up of trails. GREENRINJANI works with sustainability at its core, whether it is in how we source our equipment, what we cook, how we buy provisions, or how we manage human waste at high altitudes.

Want to hike Mt Rinjani in Indonesia, but don’t know how to choose among the plethora of trekking companies? Want to avoid the crowds and trek a route not everyone does? We chose Green Rinjani for a private hike away from the popular Sembalun Summit route and can highly recommend not only the route but the company as well.

Experienced and hard-working, our guide (Fahmi) and porters (Joko, Buddhes and Leo) took great care of us, and their personalised attention made the experience even more special. If you're thinking of hiking Mt Rinjani off the beaten path, we highly recommend doing the 3 Day/2 Night Torean/Senaru trek with Green Rinjani.

Beautiful island, beautiful nature, beautiful people. We took the 3D2N Sembalun-Summit-Senaru package. Food was very nutritionally balanced, with fresh fruits for all lunch and dinners. Our guide Dayak was supportive and knowledgeable. Since we hiked at the beginning of rain season, we got caught in a few hours of rain in the first 2 days. Dayak's experience helped us get through the whole itinerary on time despite the rain. So grateful for him and the porters who cooked fresh hot meals for us through the whole 3 days 🙏

We, a couple from Germany, did the 4 days, 3 nights, Rinjani trek, starting from Senaru. Going up to the Rinjani summit was on the last day. We had wonderful time on all four days even though the trek was to a certain degree demanding and required some endurance. At least for us being above the sixties 🙃. In addition to nature our guide Yon and the porter team played a major role in ensuring that we really enjoyed the trek. They looked after us in a very pleasant manner and prepared execellent food. Yon took care of us in a very responsible way. We always felt save and in good hands. They worked together as a well functioning team, always in a good mood and we enjoyed the company with them. We also very much appreciated their effort to ensure that no trash is left behind us. Yon even collected the trash on our way to one of the campsites. Unfortunately other tour operator seem not to care in the same way. We can highly recommend the Rinjani trek. If you have the time, choose 4d3n. Do the summit on the last day as the highlight. Last but not least do the tour with Green Rinjani. They are well organized, have good people and their camping equipment is in good shape. After the tour we stayed at the Saifana Organic Farm. Was the right spot to get re-energized. Just be aware, they offer only vegan food, but with an excellent quality. I as a non-vegetarian enjoyed the vegan food.

Communication with Ariee was difficult as his replies came in slow via Whatsapp. However, we were able to confirm on our 3D2N hiking (deluxe package) before we reached Lombok.

Once we reached the airport, the arrangement were seamless. We requested to stop for lunch before the 3 hours drive to Senaru. The room at Green Rinjani guesthouse were basic but clean and comfortable. Dinner was provided and the view is amazing from the dining area.

We had Dayat and Tony as our guides. Dayat is a very experienced guide and were very patient with some of our teammates. He gave out words of encouragement, especially on the last day of the hike when all of us were already super tired and very low on energy. His English is real good and we had no trouble understanding him.
Tony is a bubbly young chap and is always laughing. The only advice I would gave him is to improve on his English as we had a bit of trouble communicating with each other.

As for the food - very delicious, considering we were high up on the mountains. Noodle soup, rendang, fried banana, toast, chicken curry, even popcorn
Plenty of food, so much so that we could not finish the rice that was prepared. We find it a bit wasteful, it they were thrown away...

We see the porters picking up rubbish around the campsite and it was because they will only be paid (an incentive?) if they picked enough to bring down. I hope it is an incentive and not their actual pay!

Green Rinjani were also able to help us get a private boat transfer at no extra charge when we couldn't get make it in time for the public boat to Gili Trawangan on the last day. I really appreciate it.

All in all - it is worth the price we paid. I would recommend Green Rinjani!

We are a group of 5 Singaporeans who don’t have much hiking experience and we booked for a 4D3N program on Green Rinjani’s website directly. It is definitely the best decision we have made. We are often the envy of many on Rinjani. The entire transaction process was smooth and seamless. The 4D3N program also includes airport transfers before/after the hike and a one night stay at their guesthouse. And I got to say the guesthouse is so clean and comfortable!

Dayat and Yot at Green Rinjani were the best guides our group of 5 could ask for. Their dynamic works extremely well in taking care of us, with Dayat keeping the group on track and getting us safely to each location in good time, and Yot’s incredible empathy towards our morale and body language. Both of them were quickly able to make us feel included and right at home in the harsh yet breathtaking mountain community. Dayat and Yot are highly skilled in navigating treacherous areas, leading responsibly, and cracking silly jokes or holding our hands when we’re tired. It’s not hard to feel their chemistry as a team and it’s clear that they love what they do.

In addition, Dayat and Yot also ensured that everyone made it to the summit even when we were at the very brink of giving up. They diligently guided us with many words of encouragement on the difficult path towards the summit. Without them, all 5 of us would not be able to witness the magnificent sight of the summit and would have given up like many on the way up. We are truly grateful that our 2 guides pushed us beyond our limits; allowing us to have a complete experience of Rinjani.

Not to mention their amazing team of porters who dedicate themselves to consistently providing us with nutritious and wholesome warm meals and drinks at every meal. The porters would always try their best to find the best camping spot at the base camps so we could enjoy the best views. When two of us got weak near the end of the hike, our porter offered to take on our daypacks into their baskets without any qualms. Seeing them breeze through the steep terrain with our logistics is a phenomenal sight to see and we’re in awe of their strength and skill. Even when one of them cut his toe, he quickly retrieved a plaster from us and was on his way again.

We spent a mere 4 days and 3 nights in the mountains with these lovely people, but we feel slightly empty inside after leaving. We will miss the friends we made along the way and we hope as many people who go to Rinjani get to experience the warmth and love from this team at Green Rinjani. 🏔💚⛺️

Absolute craziest thing we’ve done in our lives! Thank you Green Rinjani (and special thanks to our guide Phami and all the porters) for making this an unforgettable trip! We did the 3D/2N trip and honestly, I can’t think of a single point of criticism. Everything, from start to finish was exceptional.
We were picked up from Bangsal Port in a comfortable car with a great driver, once we arrived in the Green Rinjani guesthouse, we immediately were offered a drink and delicious dinner. The briefing that followed was clear and to the point. During the trek, Phami our guide was so great! He is the reason we made it to the summit and back up the to the crater rim the second time. The food we got was exceptional, still cannot believe the porters managed to achieve this quality of food whilest cooking on a mountain! The portions were always more than enough and every meal there was fresh fruit. Also on the way we were provided with plenty of snack and water. The tents, mats and sleeping bags were way more comfortable than expected and there even was a toilettent provided!
We can’t stress enough how impressed we were with the whole organisation! We would absolutely recommend Green Rinjani if you think about doing a trek. (While on the trek, we could compare the quality of Green Rinjani to many other companies who did the trek simultaneously and every time on every point Green Rinjani out-performed them!) We also were really happy to see that no waste was left behind and the porters even spent some time picking up some trash that other companies left behind.

We did the 2D/1N crater rim tour from Senaru and are super happy, that we chose Green Rinjani. Dhana, our guide, was very kind and caring. Before you could even think of food or drink, he was there to offer it. He was also very knowledgeable, took care of our safety and it was great fun to chat with hin during the hike. Our three porters did a tremendous job in carrying all the Equipment and food. We noticed that our tent was a lot bigger than other organisations. Also the matraces were comfy (we did not book the luxury option). At any food break, we were able to choose between different dishes - thanks to our porters. There was more food than we could ever have eaten. If we would do it again, we would definitely go for Green Rinjani. One thing that could be improved: the room for the shower afterwards in the guesthouse was not clean. But that does not change the overall experience. Thanks a ton again to Dhana & team - you were the best :)

This was an absolutely brilliant experience and Green Rinjani were a really big part of that. They were great hosts throughout and we couldnt reccomend them enough. The environmental work they do is also incredibly important and worth supporting. We watched the collect other people's rubbish at every point we stopped!

We had soft drinks on arrival and the guest house has an amazing view over the jungle. Green Rinjani offered us a guided tour to the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls which was such a highlight - certainly worthwhile doing, and our guide was super friendly. We had not expected that they would offer this and we only tipped the guide.

The hike to the crater rim begins around 7am. Our guide Aril was fantastic. His English was brilliant and he was so kind, helpful and a fun companion for the hike. The porters were brillant and cooked delicous food throughout and gave us tonnes of snacks (we were not hungry!!)

The final 1.5hr to the summit was very hard. Do not underestimate this. We are in our early 30s both fit/active people and found it hard. The final part gets dusty so would reccomend a face cover. We managed overall, but for anyone considering the 3D2N summit and Crater Rim option we imagine it would be hard because you have 12 hours of hiking on day 2. We found it very hard to imagine doing this!

When you arrive at the crater rim the view is spectacular. Our guide Aril was there to point out all the best viewing and sunset spots and took some incredible photos for us.

All in all it was a wonderful experience and Green Rinjani really made that. Couldn't reccomend them enough!
