Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've spent many years boating on this clean smooth lake. It's full of alligators, so I will not swim in it. Cruise around and see all of the mansions and Rollins College. You can picnic at Dinky Dock to enjoy the lake from the shore. People do swim there.

The scenic boat tour at the east end of Morse Avenue
in Winter Park, is the best thing you can do while in town.
Reasonably priced with a nice patter from the captain/guide.

Get your boat, kayak or pontoon boat out and enjoy the lake! The views are splendid as most of the coastline is stacked with well manicured mansions.

If you don't have your own vehicle, make sure to take the boat tour which goes out several times a day.

Best times to go are fall/winter/spring - with summers only if you can tolerate the heat!

It is a beautiful area and the lakes are just lovely. We highly recommend the pontoon boat tour—informative, comfortable, and just a wonderful way to spend an hour.

It's rare to have beaches on our shores in the city of Orlando. You have to be very careful due to gators in the water. They tend to leave you along; but they do not like to be disturbed. The beach is East of Rollins College.

runs every hour, can take out 3 boats, each boat holds 16 people, so not overcrowded. Pontoon deck boats, so nice, sturdy, quiet boats. Takes a nice trip on the lake and through narrow canels. Very interesting and narrated by the "captian". Enjoyed the ride.

We spent an hour walking around the lake and enjoyed the marine and wildlife all around. The weather cooperated with us, and we truly soaked in every moment.

When visiting Rollins College campus you can enjoy the walkway along Lake Virginia. Very quiet place. Highly recommended.

One of the city workers who we met on our morning walk suggested we take the boat tour. (Landing is only 3 blocks from the park, so we did.) We saw Lake Virginia and 4 others all connected by charming canals. Good thing we went early - when we got back more than 100 people were waiting - the line went off the property and onto the street.

and you can appreciate the lifestyle of the earlier moneyed Florida residents. Nice boat tour up a couple canals and along the two lakes with interesting narrative...well worth doing.
