It's so wonderful that the museum remains open and FREE to the public during the renovations. My daughter and I enjoyed a short visit there for her first visit.

It is a freebee and will soon have expanded space (much needed). It is a short time stopover between other attraction...like the antique district.

We had a great time there today! We saw the famous and newly acquired roof tiles and attended a lecture on Chinese architecture by a Penn professor. I personally hooked up with a docent tour of new works. And all of it was totally free ( even though we are members) because the museum is undergoing an ambitious renovation. Make... More

Norton Art Museum in West Palm Beach is a very small art museum with ambitious plans to expand its offerings. Admission is free during the construction period. A free shuttle ferries visitors safely from the museum parking lot a couple of blocks away to the main entrance. Docents were busy explaining various works of art in several of the galleries.... Museum is currently undergoing extensive renovation so in a brilliant PR move, admission is free while work continues. The collection on view is small but varied and impressive including European art (eg Renoir and Gauguin), American (eg, Demuth and Hassam) and Chinese art (ceramics, bronzes and paintings). On Thursday nights, they have "art after dark" from 5-9 which includes lectures,... More

The museum has a very limited number of art on display. There is one American room and one European. I was told that construction would be completed in 2018

The Norton Museum has some wonderful traveling exhibits and a beautiful sclupture garden. I first was introduced to the Norton twenty years ago as a teacher taking third graders around, it was interesting to see them react to art. Over the years the museum has expanded and improved. It is always a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

My wife and I were impressed with the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida, when we viewed its collection of over 7,000 works with emphasis on American, European, Chinese and contemporary art and photography. But we were even more impressed when we learned that the Norton has surpassed the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art as... More
